Smart Card operating System Development by EximSoft

Introduction:

EximSoft has developed an Operating system for microprocessor Smart Cards, which is compliant to SCOSTA (Smart Card Operating System for Transport Applications). SCOSTA is the OS specifications for Smart Card to be used as Driver's License Card and Vehicle Registration Card in India, drafted by Ministry of IT, Govt. of India.

EximSoft OS complies with ISO 7816 (parts 3,4,6,8,9) standards for Smart Cards. 3-DES based encryption/decryption and other cryptographic functionality have been implemented in the OS.

Main Features:

•	ISO/IEC 7816 compliant
•	T = 0 communication protocol as per ISO 7816 - 3
•	Cryptographic Checksum and Cryptograms using 3-DES symmetric encryption/decryption
•	Active authentication using VERIFY command with PIN/Password
•	Passive authentication using Internal and External Authentication
•	Hierarchical ISO 7816 - 4 file system and file structure types (Binary, Record, Cyclic etc.)
•	Anti Tearing mechanism for data integrity
•	5 levels of DFs can be created
•	Supports "Security Environments" as per ISO 7816 - 8
•	Supports both Compact and Expanded security attributes as per ISO 7816 - 9
•	This OS is suitable to be used in variety of Smart Card applications such as Driver's License, Vehicle registration cards, Loyalty applications, Campus card solutions, Micro-finance solutions etc.
•	EximSoft OS is available on multiple Smart Card hardware such as ST Microelectronics, Infineon and Philips
