The customer, a Japan based company wanted to develop a portal for buying and selling books. EximSoft-Trianz developed an interactive e-commerce web site primarily for exchange of old / used books. Users of the portal are required to register with the site by depositing certain amount according to their discretion. The entire site works on a point based system.

When the buyer marks a book for buying, the seller is notified through e-mail. The sale value is deducted from the buyer's deposit. The site deducts commission for every sale made. The seller accumulates points equal to the sale value, post deduction of commission by the site service. The seller can redeem these points for any later purchases. Between the time the buyers expresses his interest to the time of actual sale, all interactions between the buyer and seller happen over e-mails.

The portal is administered by a site administrator who is in-charge of allocation of points, deduction of commission etc.
